Reporters work in bad environments?

How bad is it for reporters? I would argue not that bad, all things considered. Reporters get to do what they love to do for a living. And it’s not lucrative for all of us, but that’s not the point. Right?

You be the judge. Dale Kirby at Maclean’s OnCampus links to a Wall Street Journal article that reports on a list of the best and worst jobs in the United States.

Kirby writes that the occupations were rated “according to five criteria: environment, income, employment outlook, physical demands and stress.”

Coming in at #140, only 60 spots behind the worst job in America? Newspaper reporter.

The best job in the U.S. is mathematician. Er, OK.
Oh, and the worst job is lumberjack. Daniel Boone is spinning in his non-existent grave.
